With physicians in four full-time offices surrounding the city of Indianapolis, timely appointments are always available. Most health insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare, Medicaid, and many HMOs. Our physicians are available at all times to manage emergencies and other urgent needs.


Our Staff

The staff at JWM includes technicians, medical assistants, receptionists, secretaries and patient account representatives. They are trained in their respective areas to assist our neurologists. JWM’s nurse practitioner and physician assistants work closely together and collaborate with our physicians to provide comprehensive, compassionate patient care.

He completed his first-year Neurology residency at the University of Michigan in 1972 and his second and third-year Neurology residency in 1975 at Indiana University Medical Center. He specializes in Adult and Child Neurology.

Dr. Herrman Craig E. Herrman, M.D.

Craig E. Herrman received his M.D. from Indiana University in 2000. He completed his Neurology Residency in 2004 and followed with an EMG/EEG fellowship. He practices general Neurology with particular interests in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromuscular Disease. He is the principal investigator for several ongoing studies in Multiple Sclerosis and acts as the Research Director for JWM Neurology.

Ali O. Artar, M.D., received his M.D. at the University of Ankara, School of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey, in 1986. He completed a residency in Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Clinical Campus, and at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, finishing in 2000. Dr. Artar completed a fellowship in Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2002 and also a Sleep Medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2004.

Dr. McGarvey completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2004. She served a residency in Neurology at Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana finishing in 2007. Dr. McGarvey completed a fellowship in Neurophysiology at Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2008. Her special interests include Neuromuscular disease, EMG, Spasticity/Dystonia, Neurotoxicology, and Clinical Neurophysiology.

Adam J. Fisch, M.D., received his M.D. at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2004. Dr. Fisch completed an internship in Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2005. He served a residency in Neurology followed by a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri finishing in 2009. His special interests include Sleep Medicine/EEG/EMG. Dr. Fisch is an avid educator and has lectured at many universities and has recently authored "Neuroanatomy: Draw it to Know It" for which he won the "2009 Washington University in St. Louis Leonard Berg Prize for Research During Residency" Award.

Margaret L. Frazer, M.D., received her M.D. at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1985. Dr. Frazer completed an internship in Internal Medicine at University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in 1986. She served a residency in Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana, finishing in 1989. Dr. Frazer's professional interests include Alzheimer's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases, clinical research and patient disease state management. She also started and currently organizes the Central Indiana Neuropathy Support Group.

Dr. Cushing completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Brown University Department of Clinical Neurosciences at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island in 2005. Dr. Cushing’s professional interests include sleep disorders medicine, EEG and EMG.






Dr. Ridel Keith R. Ridel, M.D.

Keith R. Ridel, M.D., is a pediatric neurologist and received his medical degree at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio in 2005. Dr. Ridel completed his Pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2007. He then completed a Child Neurology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2010. Dr. Ridel sees infants, children and teenagers with general neurology problems. He conducts clinical research studies within the JWM Neurology Research Department and also has special interests in Multiple Sclerosis.

Sridhar Jatla, M.D. Sridhar Jatla, M.D.

Sridhar Jatla, M.D., received his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2002. Dr. Jatla served Psychiatry residencies at both DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, finishing in 2002, and at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, finishing in 2007. Dr. Jatla also completed a Fellowship in Sleep Disorders Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in 2008.

Sara L.P. Schrader, M.D. Sara L.P. Schrader, M.D.

Sara Schrader, M.D., received her Medical Degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2004. Dr. Schrader completed a Neurology residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Scottsdale, Arizona finishing in 2008 and a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship also at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2009. She recently served as a Major in the United States Air Force as a Staff Neurologist/Neurophysiologist at the San Antonio Military Medical Center in Texas. Her special interests include Epilepsy, EEG and EMG.

Larry L. Blankenship, M.D. Larry L. Blankenship, M.D.

Larry Blankenship, M.D., received his Medical Degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, West Virginia in 1989. He graduated with honors in physiology, psychiatry, neurology and pediatric neurology. Dr. Blankenship completed an internship at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia where he was awarded the Outstanding Outpatient Clinician. He completed his residency in neurology at Ohio State University and earned both membership in Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society and the Dave Kotlarik Award for excellence in compassionate care.

Dr. Blankenship is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology with added qualifications in clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

Charles Howe, M.D. Charles Howe, M.D.

Charles Howe, M.D., was educated in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. He graduated from Charterhouse in Surrey, England and went on to earn his Medical Degree at the University of London, England in 1977. Post-graduate studies were initially in Surgery and Medicine in the UK and New York City. He obtained his specialist diploma from Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis in Anesthesiology in 1983.

Prior to joining JWM Neurology, he was in private practice in Anderson since 1983. He has been chief of Anesthesia both at Saint John's Hospital and Community Hospital in Anderson. He was most valuable physician at Saint John’s hospital in 1994. He directed the Saint John’s Pain Clinic for 15 years until joining Central Indiana Neurology, PC in January of 2010.

He is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He was also one of the first physicians in the country to implant the St. Jude’s Medical Neuro-stimulator EON Mini System.

Dr. Howe practices interventional pain management which includes but is not limited to spinal injection, kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulation, medication pump implants and medical management. His philosophy involves a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.

Christopher P. Rocco, M.D. Christopher P. Rocco, M.D.

Christopher Rocco, M.D., received his Medical Degree at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio in 1988. Dr. Rocco completed a Neurology residency at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio finishing in 1992. He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and was named examiner for the ABPN in 1994. Dr. Rocco’s special interests include migraine headache and neurogenetics.

Caroline Stevens, D.O., received her Medical Degree at Ohio University College, in Athens, Ohio in 2004. Dr. Stevens completed her Neurology residency at Grandview Hospital & Medical Center/Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dayton, Ohio in 2008.

Her special interests include Deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy for Parkinson's disease and Essential Tremor and Botox therapy for Spasticity, Dystonia, and Chronic Daily Migraine.

Brian Paquette, D.O., M.P.H., received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Vallejo, California in 2003. Dr. Paquette received his Master of Public Health degree at the University of South Florida, College of Public Health, Tampa, Florida in 2008. He completed both a Neurology residency in 2011 and a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management in 2012 at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Paquette also served as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida.

Joshua Neucks, M.D., received his Medical Degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2009. Dr. Neucks completed a Neurology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana finishing in 2012, where he was Chief Resident. His special interests include general neurology and Botox injections.

Jeffrey W. Hilburn, M.D. Jeffrey W. Hilburn, M.D.

Board certified neurologist, Jeffrey W. Hilburn, M.D., received his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1973. Dr. Hilburn completed his Neurology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1977. He has been practicing neurology in Indianapolis for the last 30 years and specializes in stroke and vascular neurology as well as general neurology. He sees patients with all types of neurological conditions. He is both Director of the Stroke Center and Chairman of Neurology at St.Vincent Hospital. He has also been a principal investigator for multiple stroke studies.

John K. Sturman, M.D. John K. Sturman, M.D.

John K. Sturman, M.D., received his M.D. from Indiana University in 1971. He interned at Temple University Hospital and completed his residency in Neurology at Yale University in 1975. He served in the U.S Army Medical Corps, and then completed a Fellowship in EEG at Montreal Neurological Institute. He practiced in California, developing subspecialty expertise in Pain Medicine, and returned to Indianapolis in 2008-2012 to be Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Sturman is board-certified in Neurology and in Pain Medicine. He is part-time faculty at Marian College of Osteopathic Medicine. He specializes in Adult Neurology with special interests in Epilepsy, Headache, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Gina C. Davis, ANP-BC,FNP-BC is a Certified Adult & Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse from Indiana University, New Albany, IN in 1990 and a Master of Science degree in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Indiana University, Indianapolis, in 1995. She received her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Indianapolis in 1997. Gina has special interests in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, sleep disorders and pediatric neurology. She also participates in clinical research trials at JWM Neurology.

Emily D. Kriech, PA-C, MSCS is a Certified Physician Assistant. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies from Butler University in 2000. Emily also completed the National Physician Extender Program with the University of Texas, Southwestern, Dallas, in 2010. She sees patients with all types of neurological conditions and has special interests in Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, seizures and headaches. She also serves as a sub-investigator for numerous on-going research studies at JWM Neurology.

John Q. Zhang, MPAS, PA-C is a Certified Physician Assistant. He completed a Bachelor of Medical Science degree from Henan Medical University, Zhengzhou, China in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science in Medical/Radiology Technology in 2000 from Ouchita Baptist University and National Park Community College, Hot Springs, AR. John received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2008 from Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. He sees patients with all types of neurological conditions and has special interests in stroke prevention, treatment and risk management. John is passionate about educating patients and their families. He previously worked as a hospitalist in Indianapolis before joining JWM Neurology.

Kimberly A. Minnick, CPNP Kimberly A. Minnick, CPNP

Kimberly A. Minnick, CPNP is a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1998. She then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000 as well as a Master of Science in Nursing (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) in 2005, both from Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis. Before joining JWM Neurology, Kimberly practiced as a Nurse Practitioner with Riley Hospital Child Neurology for 8 years. She sees infants through young adults with all types of neurological conditions.
